See exactly how hard your build hits. The damage calculator reads your whole loadout and shows the damage of every weapon swing, spell and skill on each hit zone, against the resistances you choose.
Head, body, arms, hands, legs and feet, each with its own multiplier from the game data.
Weapon combos & ripostes
Each step of your weapon's attack chain and its ripostes, with physical and added magical damage shown separately.
Ranged falloff
Set a projectile's airtime and see how much damage your ranged weapon keeps at distance.
Distance perks
Perks whose bonus depends on the distance to the target are applied at the range you set.
On-hit effects
Artifact procs and perk, skill or spell buffs that add damage, damage over time or healing to your hits.
Spells & skills
Direct damage, damage over time and heals of your spells, songs, shapeshift forms and skills, cast with the weapon you choose.
DPS from cast & cooldown
Damage per second over a full cycle: total damage divided by cast time plus cooldown.
Target resistances
Set the target's physical and magical resistance up to the in-game caps (95% and 95%), or reset it to the training dummy.
Live with your build
Swap a ring, a perk or a weapon and every number updates instantly, from the same stat engine as the stat sheet.
Hit-zone damage multipliers
Where a hit lands changes how much damage it deals. These multipliers are read from the current game data:
Headshot Damage bonuses add to the head multiplier, up to a cap of ×2.
The multiplier applies to weapon hits and projectile spells. Damage over time, area effects and other spell damage stay the same wherever they land.

How damage is calculated
The calculator applies the same formulas as the game, step by step:
1Base hit: your weapon's damage × the combo step's ratio × the hit-zone multiplier, and × the falloff for a projectile in flight. The zone scales only this base hit, never flat bonuses.
2Additional weapon damage joins the base, then the total is multiplied by your physical power bonus. Additional physical damage is added after that.
3Damage reduction: the target's physical or magical reduction, lowered by your armor or magic penetration, cuts the result. Penetration brings reduction down to 0% at most: a negative reduction is left as it is.
4True damage is added at the very end and ignores damage reduction.
5Spells and skills scale with your magical power bonus (plus elemental bonuses) through each ability's own attribute bonus ratio, so some abilities gain more from power than others.
6Heals use your healing stats and healing bonuses. Damage and healing over time are shown per second and over their full duration.
The damage calculator is included with Dark & Builder Premium. It's an early version: if a number looks wrong, tell us on Discord and we'll fix it. The build calculator, the stat sheet and community builds stay free.
Yes. Dark & Builder's damage calculator sits right inside the build calculator: it reads your full build (gear, perks, skills, spells) and shows the damage of every weapon hit, spell and skill on each hit zone, against the resistances you set.
How much damage does a headshot do in Dark and Darker?
In the current game data a headshot deals ×1.5 damage, against ×1 on the body. Headshot Damage bonuses push it higher, up to a cap of ×2. Arms take ×0.8, hands ×0.7, legs ×0.6 and feet ×0.5.
Does armor penetration work against negative damage reduction?
No. Armor penetration (physical) and magic penetration (magical) lower the target's damage reduction, but only down to 0%. A target that already has negative reduction, like the training dummy, keeps it: penetration adds nothing there.
Do damage-over-time effects get the headshot bonus?
No. Damage over time is never scaled by the hit zone. Weapon hits and projectile spells are; area and other non-projectile spell damage is the same wherever it lands.
Is the damage calculator free?
The damage calculator is a Premium feature and is currently in beta. The build calculator, the stat sheet and community builds remain free for everyone.
Is the damage calculator updated after each patch?
Yes. Weapons, spells, skills, hit-zone multipliers and caps are synced from the game data after every update. The data currently matches Hotfix #128-1.
